B Corps are sprouting up everywhere. You can’t deny that this is obviously all positives for planet and people. However, the challenges and struggles of the green-brick road to get there can often be overlooked.
We sat down with Zac Goodman, our Director, to learn about his personal experience of TSP becoming a B Corp – and how the road to get there is equally important as the final accreditation.
Zac Goodman, Director
1. What do you view as the main benefit of being a B Corp?
With B Corp you’re joining an international club of businesses who are likeminded and have one huge goal in common: to be more sustainable. I think it unifies the team around an enriched mindset. I also think it gives our clients, suppliers and investors’ confidence that we are running our business ‘the right way’. Finally, it’s challenging to stay above the threshold and improve, this challenge drives innovation and enthusiasm within our company. That is exactly what we want.
2. What did the process of becoming B Corp accredited teach you?
Be humble. You’re never as good as you think you are! We scraped the B Corp accreditation, and it taught us how much more we can and should be doing.
3. Which other fellow B Corp do you most admire and respect?
Cheesy I know, but all of them. Having been through the process – which is long and gruelling – I respect and admire them all.
4. Would you recommend all companies consider the B-route?
Yes. I’m not saying it’s a must or it’s for everyone – but I genuinely only see the positives from it.
5. TSP has been awarded many accreditations. Which are you most proud of?
B Corp for sure. It was the hardest one to achieve and will have the longest lasting effects on what we are doing. Without a doubt.
